You are warmly invited to join us at our 4th Milan Highland Ball on Saturday 25 May 2024.
The Ball will again be held in the lovely Villa Medici Giulini in Briosco, between Milan and Como. Take a look at the website of this beautiful historical building (www.villamedici-giulini.it/en/) nestling in a quiet country setting. We will dance in the Teatrino (little theatre) which has a special atmosphere and a wooden floor. The full address is: Villa Medici Giulini, Via Medici 6, 20836 Briosco MB, Italy.
The Ball comprises:
– walkthrough from 16.00 to 18.00 (dances will be briefly re-capped at the Ball),
– optional visit to the gardens,
– aperitivo from 18.00 to 19.00
– dinner from 19.00 to 20.00
– Scottish Country Dancing from 20.15 to 23.45 in the Villa’s Teatrino, which has a special atmosphere and a wooden floor.
The musicians are Jim Lindsay (accordion) and Gillian Ramsay (violin).

Accommodation: Accommodation is not included in the ticket price so please arrange your own stay in a hotel or B&B. There is a huge selection in the area on Booking.com or Airbnb.com, though not much in Briosco itself since it is such a small village. However the Villa Medici Giulini has 14 bedrooms (11 double at our special price of €125 including breakfast, and 3 single at €110 including breakfast) so we recommend staying there. You can book directly with the Villa through their contact form on www.villamedici-giulini.it/en/contact-us/. You may even be able to choose a specific room. Say that you are coming to the Milan Highland Ball on 25 May to get your special price. Early booking is strongly advised!
Changing Dress: If you need to change your dress for the Ball we can use 2 small changing rooms within the Teatrino.
Travel: Briosco is situated 33 km north of Milan and lies halfway between its two main airports: Malpensa (53 km/43 mins) and Orio al Serio (45-60 km/50-60 mins depending on the route you take). You can also arrive at Milano Linate airport but it is much further away. Briosco is not well served by public transport, so the best option is to hire a car or taxi. If you choose to stay in Milano we will do our best to arrange shared private cars to and from the Ball but this cannot be guaranteed.
Tourism: Apart from Milano itself, the nearby cities of Como, Bergamo and Brescia have many lovely sites. You can also easily tour around Lake Como.
Price: The price for the Ball is €85 per person. This includes the afternoon walk-through, access to the gardens, aperitivo and dinner as well as the dancing.
